Prof. Izumi Morimoto of Meiji Gakuin University Visits LDDC

Liver & Digestive Disease Center (LDDC) was pleased to welcome Prof. Izumi Morimoto of the Faculty of International Studies at Meiji Gakuin University during her recent visit to Nepal.

Prof. Morimoto is a Professor in the Department of International Studies at Meiji Gakuin University, with academic interests spanning human geography and Nepal studies. Her academic engagement with Nepal includes perspectives on its people, tourism, mobility, and regional development.

During her visit to LDDC, Prof. Morimoto met with Consultant Hepatologist Dr. Pukar Thapa and Managing Director Raunak Baskota. The meeting provided an opportunity to share perspectives on LDDC's journey, its approach to specialized liver and digestive healthcare, and the evolving healthcare landscape in Nepal.

The discussion also touched upon Nepal's changing healthcare sector and the importance of knowledge exchange between Nepal and Japan. Given Prof. Morimoto's longstanding academic engagement with Nepal, the interaction offered a valuable opportunity to connect academic perspectives with practical experiences from Nepal's healthcare sector.
